Raman Analysis

The common use of a Raman analyzer to perform qualitative specimen analysis significantly undermines its true potential.  In fact, in the world of scientific testing, Raman Spectrometers are able to accomplish comprehensive and diversified scientific assessment in addition to qualitative specimen analysis.  Equipped with highly sensitive laser analyzers, the Raman Spectrometer can detect minute differences in elements or ionic traces, and also the spectral differences for scientific and statistical analysis.

Raman analyzers in the past have suffered from insufficient sensitivity and low signal to noise ratio, which is highly susceptible to background fluorescence. In addition, past systems also lacked relevant data libraries.   Authenticity analysis is hindered in terms of qualitative analysis, where the last generation instruments are unable to produce a strong spectrum due to their poor signal to noise ratio.  Furthermore, the lack of operator proficiency as well as inadequate operational professionalism makes any further research and analysis simply unmanageable.   A complete Raman analytical program that meets a wide range of conditions is particularly essential.

A Raman-based solution requires the following:

  • Superior hardware base (high sensitivity and stability),

  • Robust software foundation (rapid calculations to remove background fluorescence and fast comparative processing)

  • Complete database libraries (Ex: See below Narcotics Database)

  • Wide variety of analytical solutions

  • Specific training for implementation.

More importantly, operators must have the devotion and dedication to perform highly accurate analysis of varied specimens.

In view of this, the United ID Raman Laboratory provides and integrates all available resources to combine Raman Spectroscopy Research with professional analysis.  With the the necessary Raman infrastructure already in place,  our focus now is to assist professionals with the use of Raman analyzers as a necessary tool to fulfill their jobs in their full professional capacity.   With adequate training, we believe all professionals will be able to achieve non-destructive analysis within a short period of hands-on coaching, and will soon be capable to resolve analytical issues and challenging subjects relating to scientific identification.
